I was very apprehensive about the decision that we made. We had decided to try and fully understand the illegal side of this market before further. I told to myself that if only we fully understand the system we could tackle it with design.

The learning from the previous week was clear in our minds before we started this process. In order to capture the micro interactions and to be able to reflect and analyse the journey that we are about to take, we decided to capture it on video. But to start from the beginning to the end of the rise and fall of the need for urine by a person. To make the stakes more magnified, we chose to portray the journey of a policeman trying to pass his drug test.

Based on the visual observations from the site study, we came up with possible scenario and how the story would go about. We had planned to shoot in real location with costumes, but London weather betrayed us again. So after waiting for half a day, we decided it to indoors.

Trying to redefine the word “urine” Box and Varsha came up “Apple juice” but with a “♻️” and only if the person enters it with the emoji, the results for urine sales would show up.
